Overview:
Arabic Online from Palestine course for Beginners: This beginner’s course was developed by a team of applied linguists and experienced language teachers based at the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) in Palestine, and at the University of Glasgow (UofG) in the United Kingdom. The course is the outcome of the Online Palestinian Arabic Course (OPAC) project, which was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in the UK (Grant Ref. N. AH/R004617/1) and with the support of the UNESCO Chair for Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts (UNESCO-RILA, University of Glasgow).
We have designed for you a course that is:
• Grounded in Palestinian culture, history, language, and art;
• Tailor-made for online delivery from a challenging context;
• Holistic i.e. focusing not just on language for communication but also on the emotional and aesthetic dimensions of language.
